
Build the internationalization of higher education has become a form of consciousness in all countries in the world. Only, these efforts can not be built by one country alone, but must go through the process of close collaboration and mutual benefit.
The statement was made Rector of Institut Technologiy Bandung (ITB), Prof. Akhmaloka on the sidelines of the East Asia Inward Mission on Campus University College London (UCL), London, Monday (22/3/2010). Akhmaloka states, indeed, the concept of internationalization of higher education or higher education (HE) tends to reduce the competitiveness of developing countries.
"But this is a positive trend and should be utilized. We, especially the government, should be open responding to this collaborative spirit. Problem capital (money) that few, if used according to priorities, I am sure I can," said Akhmaloka.
Meanwhile, in a presentation entitled "The Challenge and Rewards of Internationalising Higher Education" at the show, Vise-Provost University College London (UCL) Prof Michael Worton said, it was time for governments in various countries need to pay greater attention, including the investment in the development of higher education concerning the three things, namely higher international, transnational HE, and global HE.
"In addition to bring the kinds of cooperation in the new world of globalization, internationalization of HE contribution will also produce new works through a series of cooperation or college research collaboration between countries," he said. (kompas)
